2024 IACP Officer Safety and Wellness Conference Recap

This year, the IACP welcomed attendees from across the globe to the 2024 Officer Safety and Wellness Conference in Louisville, Kentucky, on March 1–3. Through hybrid programming, dozens of workshops on a wide range of topics were offered both in person and as pre-recorded videos on IACP’s online platform. Total registration numbers were the highest ever, with 1,106 joining onsite, 182 users logging into three live-streamed general sessions, and 195 registered for the on-demand content available online. Participants were provided opportunities to network with other members of the policing community, hear directly from exhibitors at tabletop exhibits and solutions presentations, and collect helpful resources to take back to their agencies.

Attendees participated in several activities, including mindfulness sessions; morning yoga and a group run; wall-sit, plank, and push-up challenges; neuro-wellness exercises; and distraction/deception techniques for officer wellness. Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) hosted attendees at the Summit Wellness Center Open House, where people had a chance to learn more about the pillars of LMPD’s holistic approach to employee wellness.
