A Roadmap for Building a Strong Organizational Culture
A strong and positive organizational culture is essential for effective police service. The IACP Police Professional Standards, Ethics, and Image Committee (PPSEI) recognizes this critical need and has composed a resolution outlining fundamental principles for healthy culture within police agencies.
The IACP committees work together, represent tens of thousands of police leaders globally, seek to provide recommendations and leading practice examples for the policing profession. This is often illustrated through committee resolutions that identify recommendations for the entire association through IACP’s governing structure.
PPSEI drafted this resolution in collaboration with the IACP Human and Civil Rights, Police Administration, Education and Training, and Community Policing Committees. The resolution aims to establish fundamental principles for developing, fostering, and maintaining a positive policing culture and offers key factors for ongoing assessment of agency culture.
