Genetec, Inc., is unveiling its next-generation mobile automatic license plate recognition system. Powered by Intel Movidius Myriad X VPU, the AutoVu SharpZ3 enables advanced levels of innovation in in-vehicle analytics, situational awareness, and accuracy. The AutoVu SharpZ3 system will not only be able to improve the accuracy of license plate reads in difficult environments, such as bad weather, heavy traffic, and fast speeds, but will also be able to instantly recognize additional analytics, including vehicle type, color, and more. The system also features three optical sensors in the camera to provide additional analytics and a modular chassis to allow users to easily add new functionalities in the field.

Larson Electronics releases a solar LED light tower for wide-area illumination in outdoor settings. This unit can be elevated up to 21.3 feet and features two 300-watt solar panels. The tower comes with four dimmable 50-watt LED fixtures and four 150aH gel batteries. This unit comes with a solar controller and is secured to a single-axle trailer. The SPLT-.6K-LM21-RB-4X150AH-4X10L-CPR-D-V2 solar LED light tower is made of die-cast aluminum alloy and features a telescoping mast that can be rotated 360 degrees. A cooling system circulates air within the junction box at 1400 CFM when the ambient temperature exceeds 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
Handheld Narcotics Analyzer
Law enforcement agents, narcotics officers, and customs personnel can now identify 34 additional substances and choose from two scan modes with the Thermo Scientific TruNarc handheld narcotics analyzer. The latest update uses Raman spectroscopy that allows officers to scan a single sample for multiple narcotics in one nondestructive, non-contact test and receive the results within seconds. The analyzer library can now quickly and accurately identify 498 substances, including 40 fentanyl derivatives. Users can also now choose between two scan modes, Direct or Type-H, dictating which library the TruNarc analyzer will reference to help optimize performance.

German company embedded brains GmbH, which specializes in customized software and hardware development for high-performance single and multicore systems, has developed the hardware, mechanical components, and power management strategy for a compact personal security device. Genucard 3 allows mobile users to securely connect to and access their company network while on the road or from the home office. With a compact cellphone format, the device can be easily connected via USB to any laptop or workstation and enables access to sensitive data in classified networks via a virtual private network (VPN). Genucard 3 offers dual-band Wi-Fi for high-performance WLAN connection and authentication via PIN entry directly on the device.
