Reconstruction Software
FARO Technologies, Inc., offers a new edition of FARO Zone 3D Software to the public safety market with critical new capabilities. These include advanced graphics, customizable vehicle modeling, and the ability to measure from photographs through photogrammetry integrations. It is a multi-modal, capture-device agnostic software program that can diagram, document, and analyze forensic scenes and crash sites utilizing data from drones, 3D laser scanners, 2D photos, and other traditional measurement devices. One significant feature in this release is improved point cloud capability. Investigators can accurately reconstruct any scene with multiple sources of data to create factual diagrams and animations.
P25 Smart Radio
Motorola Solutions helps to keep police focused and moving forward within the public safety ecosystem with the APX N70 smart radio. The APX N70 works reliably across a variety of frequencies, modes, and protocols with sophisticated features in a rugged design. Officers can access radio details in three ways: voice, touchscreen, or hard controls. These radios are rugged and easy to use, delivering actionable intelligence for increased situational awareness to police and other first responders in real time. Hardware encryption algorithms and batch radio programming tools for easier updates keep communications secure and ensure devices always have the latest software.
Less-Lethal Projectile
PepperBall has announced the availability of the PepperBall VXR LIVE-MAXX projectile. The PepperBall LIVE-MAXX formulation offers the highest level of PAVA bioavailability, while the finned VXR platform gives enhanced distance and unparalleled accuracy in projectile deployment. The precision PepperBall launchers, proprietary powder formulas, and shells ensure that officers can control crowds, have options for daily patrol, can disable assailants, and accomplish their missions while minimizing the risk of death or serious injury to the public and law enforcement officers.
Night Vision Monocular
SIONYX introduces the OPSIN DNVM1, a helmet-mounted, color digital night vision monocular. Made of glass-reinforced polycarbonate, it is durable and lightweight at only 10.6 ounces or 301 grams. It provides low-light visibility to observe, detect, identify, and record targets of interest in low-light environments. It is available globally, with some restrictions, to law enforcement. An extra-large 1920×1080 HD micro-OLED display and minimally designed menus and metadata overlays keep the field of view clear. It offers flexible helmet mounting with a standard dovetail interface and included helmet mounting kit. The monocular can be used with either eye, with glasses or goggles.
ECW Training Device
Smart Firearms announces that it is offering a new training product that replicates the major functional features of the most popular electronic control weapon on the market (the Taser X2), including both functional red aiming lasers as well as the trigger, safety selector, and arc buttons. The Smart Firearms Taser Training Pro also offers optional IR lasers to interface with any simulator or targeting vest on the market. This third-party training device provides an attractive option for thousands of police departments across the globe.
Cold Weather Kit
The ProPac Vehicle Emergency Winter Survival Kit can help sustain officers on patrol and others during difficult cold weather situations. Designed for two people, the kit is also effective for emergencies when the heat goes out inside buildings, providing supplies needed for cold weather comfort and care. This survival kit has components that offer first aid, nutrition, and comfort against the cold. Its contents include one cinch bag, one first aid travel kit, two pairs of knit gloves, two knit caps, two hand warmers, two emergency blankets, two water packets, one pack of six fortified food bars, two ponchos, and a light stick.
IP Encoders/Decoders
Matrox Video announces the availability of the ConvertIP standards-based, IPMX-ready encoders and decoders. They feature multiple connectivity options, including HDBaseT, compressed and uncompressed support, and a fanless design. These standalone devices support lossless, zero-latency 4K signals over 1, 10, and 25 GbE AV-over-IP networks. The IPMX-ready ConvertIP encoder/decoder line facilitates the integration of new products and platforms into existing or future networks while supporting 4K60 4:4:4 IP signal transport. Combining encoder or decoder functionality on compact, PoE+-powered devices further simplifies integration efforts, while ConvertIP’s fanless and redundant design ensures reliable 24/7 operation across a wide range of AV/IT environments.
Situational Awareness Tool
Genetec featured the latest developments for Citigraf, the company’s situational awareness solution for real-time crime centers at IACP 2022. Citigraf combines the data and information of disparate sensing systems to generate a clearer, unified image for better situational awareness. With a common operating picture, citywide law enforcement and public safety agencies can shave off critical minutes from detection to on-scene response, helping law enforcement agencies benefit from better planning, detection, response, and prevention of incidents. This situational awareness technology is enabled by the latest release of Genetec Security Center, the company’s unified security platform.
Vehicle Camera
i-PRO offers its new WV-VCF41P 4K Panoramic Front Camera for police vehicles. A component of i-PRO’s powerful in-car video (ICV) system, the new camera is ideal for law enforcement agencies seeking wide-angle coverage and high-resolution capture of video evidence from the vehicle. It provides a full 150-degree field of view. The lens is specifically designed to minimize distortion and edge warping. The camera’s 4K sensor is i-PRO’s highest resolution sensor for mobile video evidence applications, accurately recording events as they unfold across the entire scene in front of the vehicle and supporting detailed forensic zooming into areas of interest without image blurring.
