February 2023: Innovations in Law Enforcement Training

Guest Editors: Chief David Kurz and Eric Drifmeyer

Law enforcement training has to continuously evolve to keep pace with societal changes, new laws, new threats, and shifts in public expectations. Agencies are turning to innovative methods to fulfill this need, including the use of modern technology such as immersive virtual reality, to engage officers and teach both tactical and interpersonal skills. Innovations in training also look to train today’s personnel, from crime analysts to patrol officers to chiefs, to reach their full potential, hone their skills, and proactively manage their physical and mental well-being.
