Between February and October 2006, the City of Scottsdale conducted automated speed enforcement on a segment of Arizona Route 101 within the Scottsdale city limits. This experiment is unusual in that it was constructed and operated on a major freeway. Deploying these devices in high-volume, high-speed, multilane freeway environments is technically challenging.
