VIOLENT EXTREMISM

Over the past several years, violent crime perpetrated by white supremacists, the militia movement, anti-government actors, and a variety of other domestic extremists has surged. At the same time, foreign terrorist movements continue to inspire support. The threat of extremism is made more complicated by the variety of external actors who seek to introduce and exacerbate narratives that polarize society. The increasingly complex extremism landscape has placed public safety under immense pressure.
