The 20th Annual Candlelight Vigil, sponsored by the National Law Enforcement OfficersMemorial Fund (NLEOMF), will be held at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorialin Washington, D.C., on Tuesday, May 13, 2008. Communities across North America havebuilt memorials to honor peace officers who have died or become disabled in the line ofduty. May 15 has been designated National Peace Officers Memorial Day, and most localcommunities hold a memorial service in remembrance of police officers who have made thesupreme sacrifice for their communities.
