It is widely acknowledged that law enforcement is a high-risk profession. However, the risks to officers extend beyond physical danger to include potential mental, emotional, and psychological challenges. Proactive approaches by police leaders, informed by research and evidence, can help mitigate these risks to officer wellness, while also increasing their officers’ effectiveness and productivity.
