The Real Time Crime Center (RTCC) puts a wealth of information at the fingertips of police officers in the street to solve crimes and apprehend criminals. This center, developed by the New York City Police Department, provides a staggering scope of information. In 2006, the RTCC technology was searching through 120 million criminal complaints, arrests, and 911 call records, five million files by New York state and more than 31 million records nation-wide to find the information officers needed in the street.
