A nuclear attack, if carried out, would have consequences for the United States as well as the international community. In spite of these catastrophic consequences, many agencies ignore the vulnerabilities of the United States to a radiological or nuclear attack. Such an attack could be prevented by a properly trained and equipped law enforcement officer. For this reason, finances, training, equipment, and other resources are being made available to decrease the risk of this threat.
