Speed enforcement smartphone app

Laser Technology, Inc. (LTI) is unveiling a new speed enforcement solution at this year’s IACP. The TruSpeed Sx laser, now with iOS and Android compatible Bluetooth, syncs with a smartphone app to capture and store a picture of a vehicle along with its speed. LTI’s SpeedCapture App collects the time, speed, and distance data as well as the option to input vehicle and violation information. It embeds all these data within the photo and can either be saved to your camera roll for texting and emailing or the whole data log can be downloaded onto a PC. An extensive vehicle database of all known makes and models is preloaded into this app for an easily accessible pick list. See it first hand at LTI’s IACP booth #2841 and enter a drawing for a chance to win this state-of-the-art speed enforcement solution.

The FBI’s Next Generation Identification (NGI) Increment 3 was deployed on May 5, 2013, providing significant improvement in latent fingerprint search accuracy and a new nationwide palm print identification system to help solve cold cases and improve crime-solving capabilities. These new resources are among the latest upgrades delivered by a Lockheed Martin-led team for the FBI’s NGI system. The improvements are the largest so far in a series of phased upgrades to the FBI’s biometric identification services, providing powerful new and enhanced biometric capabilities for more than 18,000 local, state, tribal, and federal law enforcement agencies across the United States. The new National Palm Print System (NPPS) contains latent palm prints that will be searchable on a nationwide basis for the first time. Visit us at booth # 2754.

Blunt force impact device

The Alternative, manufactured and distributed by Alternative Ballistics, is a lightweight extremely accurate and affordable system that provides law enforcement and military professionals the ability to apply less-lethal force in those situations where lethal force is warranted but may not be the appropriate way to resolve the situation. This innovative blunt force impact device instantaneously converts an officer’s duty weapon into a less-lethal weapon, while allowing the ofifcer to maintain his weapon and attention in continuous coverage of the threat. After firing the weapon, the bullet travels down the barrel through the docking station and into The Alternative, which captures the bullet—transferring its kinetic energy forward. It then tracks toward the target. The dock instantly separates from the weapon, returning the weapon to lethal force as quickly as the weapon cycles in a new round. Please visit us at IACP 2013, booth #3511.
