Escape mask
The Potomac Emergency Escape Mask from I.B.N. Protection Products is designed to protect against nuclear, biological, and chemical threats. It comes vacuum-sealed in a foil pouch, weighs less than eight ounces, and fits into a briefcase, desk drawer, or glove compartment. Radiation detector
International Medcom’s Radalert 50 is a lightweight, handheld nuclear radiation detector designed to measure alpha, beta, gamma, and x-radiation. It features a user-set alert feature that can be set to alarm above the normal background radiation level. A red LED blinks and a beeper chirps (the chirp can be muted) with each count of radiation detected. The Radalert 50 uses a Geiger-Mueller sensor to detect nuclear radiation and measure levels of radiation.

Spacesaver Corporation’s new Universal Weapons Rack is designed to meet the needs of law enforcement, the military, and others. The weapons rack is manufactured of durable, fully welded, heavy-gauge steel, and the cabinets have built-in, folding, retractable doors and locking bars designed to meet physical security requirements for conventional arms, ammunitions, and explosives. Doors, sides, and backs of cabinets are perforated with a diamond mesh pattern to allow visible counts or weapon inventory while doors remain closed and locked. SIMS is designed to track employee skills, qualifications, awards, licenses, and training credentials and to develop custom and career-based training plans. Electric bicycle
WaveCrest Laboratories announces its high-performance electric bicycle, the TidalForce M-750. The TidalForce M-750 resembles a typical 21-gear mountain bike but is powered by a 1,000-watt WaveCrest adaptive motor system in the rear hub and a 36-volt battery pack in the front hub. It designed for police use ranging from community policing and targeted enforcement to drug operations and surveillance. The bicycle has a maximum speed of 30 miles per hour and a range of up to 15 miles, which the rider can augment by pedaling. It can be custom-fitted with such options as a compass, headlights, and brake lights.

Wireless server
Micro Solutions Inc. announces its backpack wireless workgroup server this week. This portable, all-in-one network solution is designed to enable law enforcement agencies to network all their PCs, have gigabytes of shared storage, add wireless connections, and share a secure broadband Internet connection in one complete, easy-to-install product. It is ideal for command posts and remote command centers for storing and sharing important data. In a package about the size of an external CD burner, Micro Solutions has packed 80 gigabytes of shared storage, a connection for secure, shared broadband Internet access, and a wireless and wired local area network. It is compatible with Windows, Mac, Linux and other operating systems.

Vehicle immobilizer
Wilson Locking Systems introduces CuffLock, designed to render vehicles immobile in parking enforcement and other noncritical situations. The compact design functions like a handcuff: inner and outer arms slide together to form a compact nine-inch crescent that slides around most wheel and tire combinations and locks down to a quarter-inch. The unit weighs six pounds. The arms of the device are coated with a polyurethane epoxy designed to prevent scratches to rims and hubs, and the device is powder coated in bright lime green for visibility.
