Scheduling software
Shift Schedules introduces an updated rotating shift scheduler with new features for scheduling vacations and overtime. Rotating or fixed shifts are designed to be combined with either rotating or fixed days off to create the shift coverage that police departments need, using any combination of shift patterns up to 42 days long. By design, vacation and other leave can be scheduled along with extra duty assignments to cover the vacated shifts of those on leave. The Excel spreadsheets that make up the scheduler are available in several sizes and are designed to schedule up to 200 people for a year.
Laser sight
LaserMax Inc. announces a new addition to its internal laser sight line. The LMS-3XD is a laser aiming device designed to fit inside Springfield XD subcompact pistols. LaserMax’s proprietary laser sighting sys-tem consists of a replacement guide rod and spring assembly and a modified takedown lever. The miniaturized laser, electronics, and batteries are all housed in the spring guide, which is crafted from aluminum. Activation is designed to be ambidextrous and as simple as pressing a button incorporated into the takedown lever. The LMS-3XD is engineered to add less than an ounce to the weight of the firearm and is designed for installation by the user in minutes without special tools.
Trace evidence finder
Coherent introduces the TracER is a portable forensic laser system specifically designed for the rigors of modern criminology and forensics. It is designed to be used to find fingerprints, fibers, body fluids, bone fragments, tooth chips, narcotics residue, and a variety of other trace evidence, even in environments with high ambient light.
Emergency light bar
Code 3 introduces the XF2300TM light bar. Designed to provide maximum visibility for officer safety, the XF2300 features X-Fire white OPTIX LED intersection lights, front-facing and rear-facing three-up OPTIX LED lights and six-up OPTIX LEDs in the corners. All LED lights in the new XF2300 are available in red, blue, amber, or white in single- and dual-stack options. Any of 10 flash patterns, including steady-burn, quad-flash, and cycle-flash, can be specified for each LED module and easily changed in the field. The XF2300 can also be configured with both an amber ArrowStik and a full-length red and blue signal.
Driving gloves
Qwi introduces a line of driving and motorcycle gloves designed to help prevent hand pain and numbness in drivers and motorcycle riders in law enforcement. The Qwi solution is designed to reduce pain by diverting pressure and vibration away from the hand’s major nerves. All Qwi driving and motorcycle gloves are designed to include anatomically located solid gel nerve protection pads. There is also a separate solid gel pad designed to provide additional comfort across the base of the fingers. This gel pad extends into the fingers for extra protection in motorcycle gloves.
Knives
Buck Knives introduces four models for 2006.All feature dual deployment and are designed with grip ridges at critical pressure points. The Model 870 Bones is a frame-lock folder with a three-inch partially serrated modified tanto blade. The Model 871 Ghost Rider is a one-hand open-and-close liner lock with a black, textured G10 handle. The Model 872 Sandman is a slightly larger knife with a liner lock for one-hand open-and close action. The Model 873 Iceman is a folder with a sleek, high-tech design. Blades on all models are 420HC stainless steel, heat-treated for hardness and finished with Buck’s Edge2x technology.
