Badge accessories

College degree programs
Bellevue University announces that it now offers 22 bachelor’s degree completion programs and nine master’s degree programs online for public safety professionals, including the bachelor of science degree in criminal justice administration and the master of science degree in security management. The university awards up to 24 credits for state law enforcement training toward the bachelor’s degree. Students who have an associate’s degree or close to 60 credit hours can complete their bachelor’s degrees in 15 months.

Fingerprint sensor
Lumidigm Inc. introduces the J110 fingerprint sensor, a ruggedized device that uses multispectral imaging. The J110 is designed to deliver high-quality, 500-dots-per-inch fingerprint images using multiple wavelengths of light coupled with advanced filtering techniques to capture images at and below the surface of the skin. Multispectral imaging is engineered to provide clean, clear fingerprint images when fingers are wet, extremely dry, or incompletely touching the platen. The device’s technology is designed to defeat fake fingers and finger spoofs and is built to operate at temperatures from -20 degrees Celsius to +70 degrees Celsius with relative humidity ranging from 10 to 99 percent.

Emergency communication device
Catcher Inc. announces the Catcher, a device designed to capture all relevant information in the form of voice and video data in one portable personal computer. The device is engineered to allow the user to run complex applications such as a real-time translator, perimeter monitoring, facial recognition, fingerprint identification, breathalyzer, speech-to-text, and more. The Catcher includes two digital cameras, biometric sensors, wireless and wired communications, Bluetooth, a GPS receiver, full-motion video and video conferencing, a 6.4-inch sunlightreadable display, and more.

Gun rack
Pro-gard Products announces its partition and vertical gun rack for the Ford F150 four-door truck. The partition is designed to provide the officer with security from prisoners along with plenty of cabin space for officer comfort. Multiple window configurations are available. Also available is the vertical gun rack with single or dual weapons. The vertical between-the-seats design is engineered to allow officers quick and easy access to their secured weapons.

Interoperable communications
Iridium Satellite and Raytheon’s JPS Communications announce a joint marketing initiative to provide first responders with a fully interoperable communications service for use in disasters. The two companies are making Iridium voice and data communications services available to customers packaged with the JPS ACU interoperability technology. The Iridium/Raytheon collaborative effort is designed to give customers of both companies access to Iridium mobile satellite voice and data communications services packaged with the JPS ACU product line including the ACU-1000, ACU-T, and ACU-M. The ACU-1000 is engineered to interconnect up to 24 communications devices at a time, including those based on satellite communications, radio, cellular, or land-based networks.

Mounting rail adapters
LaserLyte announces the availability of mounting rail adapters designed to allow owners of S&W Sigma Series, HK USP, and USP Compact pistols to take advantage of the increasing number of universal-type rail mount accessories in the marketplace. The adapters are engineered to allow owners of these pistols to choose from more than just the proprietary accessories offered by the gun manufacturers to fit their own proprietary rails. LaserLyte’s adapters change the grooves on the forward frame into standard Picatinny/Weaver-type rails and are designed to allow quick mounting of lasers, lights, and other accessories under the barrel on the Sigma and USP pistols.

Yukon Advanced Optics Inc. announces the national launch of its Centurion Systems brand of tactical optic equipment. The Centurion Line of advanced night vision systems was specifically developed for advanced professional applications.
