Gloves for digital devices

The Youngstown MWG TouchScreen glove allows users to operate touchscreen

Traffic speed sign

The first product launched from TraffiCalm’s next generation of driver feedback signs for 2012 is the nine-inch matrix display Radar Driver Feedback (DFB) sign. The lightweight, fully featured traffic speed sign is built with highly visible LEDs. Designed to be the most affordably priced electronic traffic calming solution on the market, the DFB is suitable for a variety of speed reduction applications. The display shows the speeds of approaching vehicles using amber LEDs and is capable of showing speeds from 5 miles per hour to 99 miles per hour.

Two-way satellite communicator

DeLorme announces the release of a major upgrade for inReach two-way satellite communicators. inReach users can download the latest firmware version to their inReach devices at no cost. Major product improvements and enhancements in the new release include extended battery life and recharging options. The newly updated Earthmate app enables world topographic map downloads. Originally introduced in November 2011, inReach is an affordable satellite communicator offering two-way personal text messaging with delivery confirmation, SOS alerting, tracking, and location.

Software and training grants

Overwatch announces that 16 law enforcement and homeland security organizations are recipients of the company’s IM-PACT investigative analysis software as part of its Excellence in Policing competitive grant program. Each grant recipient receives IM-PACT software product licenses and standard training free of charge, representing more than $50,000 of donated software and services. Recipients represent university, state, county, municipal, and tribal agencies in 12 states. The number of recipients was expanded given the overwhelming response to the program.

Awards program

The awards are intended to celebrate achievements by law enforcement, through the submission of success stories by Thomson Reuters customers who have made positive impacts on their communities with the company’s public and proprietary records search products. The most compelling story is awarded a $5,000 charitable donation on the submitter’s behalf to his or her choice of several selected charities.
