In this age of declining budgets and expanding needs and mandates, the importance of effective partnerships between the public and private sector never has been clearer. Experienced police commanders know and value the establishment of effective partnerships with the private sector, which may take on many different forms such as partnerships with community groups, business districts, security organizations, and other stakeholders.
