One of U.S. painter Norman Rockwell’s most famous works is entitled The Runaway. This painting depicts a young boy at a restaurant counter, presumably in a small town in the United States. He is sitting on a stool that is too high to allow his feet to reach the floor, and all of his world’s possessions are presumedly in the small bundle on the floor next to him. It is apparent that, for whatever reason, the boy has decided to leave home and head out on his own.
