Colorado continues to rank among the top U.S. states for motor vehicle thefts, and the city of Arvada has felt the impact. From 2020 through 2022, the Arvada Police Department noticed a startling increase in reported thefts—jumping from 572 in 2020 to 874 in 2021 and 831 by 2022. While vehicle theft began trending downward in 2023 with 559 thefts, the issue remained a top community concern.
