When considering technology in most law enforcement agencies today, it is easy to either think about traditional information technology systems, investigative and intelligence support technology, or technology that renders or processes some form of digital evidence. In truth, technology is still a new frontier for law enforcement.
While this is accurate, it is easy to forget about the continued integration and aggregation of many technologies in almost every domain at an agency and moreover with service providers outside of an agency. Additionally, these technologies come with increasing simplicity for the user, overall complexity within, and rapidly changing lifecycles.
