If 2020 taught us anything, it is that crisis IS the new normal. This is an era of overlapping, nonstop, and ever-evolving crises, and there seems to be no end in sight. While police leaders are no strangers to crises and critical incidents, during 2020 and the early days of 2021, something has been different. The media saturates the airwaves with knee-jerk reporting, people choose infotainment over news, and much of society gravitates toward social media as the primary (though often incorrect) news source.
